Visionary Art by Tom Murray

Visionary Art
Since the dawn of art, artists have attempted to show what the eyes don’t see but the inner voice or soul comprehend.

The image is a bridge between the lower and the higher world, intended to suggest a wider vision of awareness which includes the spiritual, the mystical and the transcendental.
This is the main concern of visionary art.

The connection to this realm and the ability to reveal its experience through paintings or drawings explain the idea of visionary art.
Such artworks are considered as points of contact between the spiritual and the material realms.

Dye Sublimation Printing
Sublimation onto metal is a new, cutting edge, way to reproduce an image.

The image is first printed onto a transfer paper and then is adhered to pretreated aluminum.
The aluminum and transfer paper are placed into a custom heat press, which is heated to temperatures exceeding 380 degrees Fahrenheit. While being subjected to extreme heat and pressure, the dyes from the transfer paper turn into a gas, are pressed into the surface of the metal, and then solidify into the treated aluminum. As the dyes cool they are permanently infused beneath the surface of the metal substrate.

Dye Sublimation Printing is different from traditional printing options, in that those merely put an image on the medium.
Sublimation translates that image through the medium itself, ensuring the most vibrant reproduction of the image that is possible.
